Every notable bog in Estonia - trails, towers, access rules and the best time to visit each one.
Estonia is one of the boggiest countries on Earth: mires once covered more than a fifth of its territory, and over 70 raised bogs, mire complexes and fen systems remain protected today. This map gathers all of Estonia's notable bogs - every bog with a public boardwalk or study trail, plus the great trailless massifs of Alutaguse, Läänemaa and the south. Each entry tells you whether the bog is open for visiting, what infrastructure to expect (boardwalks, observation towers, campfire sites), and when to go: sunrise mist over the pools, late-summer heather and cranberries, the white nights of June, or a frozen crossing in winter.
