Nature occasionally forgets the rules. This map collects the strangest, most alien landscapes on the planet: a salt flat so flat it becomes a perfect mirror of the sky, towers of sandstone that float in the mist, white stone terraces filled with turquoise water, and an island marooned for millions of years where nothing grows the way it does anywhere else. Each one looks impossible. All of them are real.
